1. Introduction
This cookie policy explains what cookies are, how I use them on my website, and what choices you have. My website uses a small number of cookies to make the site work properly and to help me understand how visitors use it.
I take your privacy seriously. Where cookies are not strictly necessary for the website to function, I will ask for your consent before placing them.
2. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer, tablet or phone when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the website owner.
Cookies can be "first-party" (set by the website you are visiting) or "third-party" (set by another service used on the website). They can also be "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or "persistent" cookies (remain on your device until they expire or you delete them).
3. Cookies used on this website
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the website to function. They enable basic features such as page navigation and access to the site. The website cannot operate properly without them, and they do not require your consent.

Cookie consent preference Records your cookie consent choices so you are not asked repeatedly. This is a first-party persistent cookie and expires after 1 year.
3.2 Analytics cookies
I use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use my website. This helps me improve the site and the content I publish. These cookies collect anonymous, aggregated data and do not identify you personally. They are only placed with your consent.
_ga Distinguishes unique visitors by assigning a randomly generated identifier. Collects anonymous data including pages visited, time on site, referral source, browser type, device type and approximate geographic location. This is a third-party cookie set by Google and expires after 2 years.
ga* Used by Google Analytics 4 to maintain session state and track interactions across pages. This is a third-party cookie set by Google and expires after 2 years.
_gid Distinguishes visitors over a 24-hour period and throttles the rate of requests to Google Analytics. This is a third-party cookie set by Google and expires after 24 hours.
Data collected by Google Analytics is processed by Google in accordance with their privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

My website includes features provided by third-party services. These services may set their own cookies. I have limited control over third-party cookies, but I have listed them here for transparency.

My newsletter signup form is provided by MailerLite. When you interact with the form, MailerLite may place a cookie to identify your session and prevent duplicate submissions.

MailerLite's full cookie policy is available at: https://www.mailerlite.com/legal/cookie-policy
Embedded social media content
Where I embed content from social media platforms (such as Instagram or Facebook), those platforms may set cookies on your device when the content loads. These cookies are governed by the privacy and cookie policies of the relevant platform. I do not have control over these cookies.
4. How to manage cookies
